History of Easter

Image
Easter, also called Pascha or Resurrection Sunday, is a festival and holiday celebrating the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred on the third day of his burial after his crucifixion by the Romans at Calvary c. 30 AD.It is the culmination of the Passion of Jesus, preceded by Lent (or Great Lent), a forty-day period of fasting, prayer, and penance. Most Christians refer to the week before Easter as "Holy Week".It contains the days of the Easter Triduum, including Maundy Thursday, commemorating the Maundy and Last Supper, as well as Good Friday, commemorating the crucifixion and death of Jesus. In Western Christianity, Eastertide, or the Easter Season, begins on Easter Sunday and lasts seven weeks, ending with the coming of the fiftieth day, Pentecost Sunday. In Eastern Christianity, the season of Pascha begins on Pascha and ends with the coming of the fortieth day, the Feast of the Ascension. Easter and the holidays that are re

New Organ Found in Human Body and probably the largest organ

Image
A team of researchers from New York University School of Medicine, Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research and the University of Pennsylvania has identified that layers of the human body long thought to be connective tissues — below the skin’s surface, lining the digestive tract, lungs, and urinary systems, and surrounding arteries, veins, and the fascia between muscles — are actually interconnected, fluid-filled compartments, categorizing them as an organ. The newfound organ — the interstitium (connective tissue) — is a series of spaces, supported by a meshwork of strong (collagen) and flexible (elastin) connective tissue proteins found below the skin’s surface, lining the digestive tract, lungs and urinary systems, and surrounding arteries, veins, and the fascia between muscles. Importantly, the finding that this layer is a highway of moving fluid may explain why cancer that invades it becomes much more likely to spread. Draining into t

Bill Gates speech about Nigeria and how to improve Nigeria economy.

Your  Excellency Muhamadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Senator Bukola Saraki, Senate President; Honorable Yakubu Dogara, Speaker of the House; Your Excellencies, executive governors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; Royal fathers; Distinguished ladies and gentlemen. And as you say in Nigeria, all other protocols observed. Thank you for welcoming me to Nigeria. I've been coming here regularly since 2006, and I've always felt welcome. Nigerians usually greet me warmly. The first time I met the Sultan of Sokoto, I was honored that he greeted me with the gift of a white horse. At some point during every visit, though, some brave person eventually asks me—very politely—"Why are you actually here?" It's an understandable question. Most American technology guys don't wander around Nigeria learning about its health system. But I think I have a good answer. Whe

Human beings on brink of achieving IMMORTALITY by year 2050, expert reveals

Image
Dr Ian Pearson said human beings are very close to achieving immortality in a number of different ways, but only if you can make it to the year 2050. Anyone who dies before then could be part of the last generation of humans to die of old age. Dr Pearson said: "By 2050, it will only really be for the rich and famous. Most people on middle-class incomes and reasonable working-class incomes can probably afford this in the 2060s. So anyone 90 or under by 2060. If you were born sometime in 1970 onwards, that would make you 48 this year. So anybody under 50 has got a good chance of it, and anyone under 40 almost definitely will have access to this." There are several ways in which people can live forever, such as renewing body parts. This could be done in several ways, including genetic engineering that prevents or reverses the ageing of cells. People may be able to replace vital body organs with new parts. Scientists around the world are currently working on creating human orga

History of Christmas

Image
Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed most commonly on 25 Decemberas a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it is preceded by the season of Advent or the Nativity Fast and initiates the season of Christmastide, which historically in the West lasts twelve days and culminates on Twelfth Night;in some traditions, Christmastide includes an octave. The traditional Christmas narrative, the Nativity of Jesus, delineated in the New Testament says that Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in accordance with messianic prophecies;when Joseph and Mary arrived in the city, the inn had no room and so they were offered a stable where the Christ Child was soon born, with angels proclaiming this news to shepherds who then further disseminated the information. Christmas Day is a public holiday in many of the world's nations, is celebrated religiously by a majority of Chr

Why Should You Blog?

Image
I started blogging in the spring of 2016. Considering how long blogging has been around – that’s a pretty late start. Why would anyone want to blog? There are plenty of reasons. And it’s still a great time to get started. Check out this list and see some of the reasons why. 1. It’s fun and rewarding Blogging is fun. I get to write about things I enjoy and I meet people online who share similar interests. I spent most of my career sitting behind a computer. At one of my jobs we worked in a room with no windows that we called the cave. Don’t get me wrong – I love being behind a computer. But there isn’t much social interaction. When I decided in 2015 I was going to flip my life on its head and do exactly the opposite of everything I’ve ever done: •help people with their problems •go to conferences and meet people •talk to people (you don’t do that much as a programmer) my entire outlook on life changed. I get to help people with their finances. I’m making a difference. 2. You’

Researchers develop digestible sensors for monitoring the gastrointestinal tract

Image
MIT's scientists invest a great deal of energy pondering absorbable innovation. In the recent years, researchers at the school have built up a wide range of swallowable gadgets, including a robot fashioned from pig parts designed to expel batteries. The school's Koch Institute specifically has concentrated on the space, taking a gander at routes in which absorbable sensors can be utilized to screen things like medication admission. Expanding on that exploration, a group at Koch is showing a new sort of sensor that can be moved up into a pill and gulped. Once the case disintegrates, the sensor holds fast to the stomach lining, checking development that can be utilized to analyze stomach related clutters and monitor nourishment admission. The framework measures 2 by 2.5 centimeters when unfurled and utilizes polymers with adaptability like that of the human skin that extend and move alongside the gastrointestinal tract. The sensors are piezoelectric, which means they create vol

Ways to Use Conflict to Find Solutions to Problems.

Image
Tension is good when you give it space to create solutions rather than disrupt the relationships among group members. Every group is inherently dysfunctional. It's the differences in people,  priorities that create pressure. Dysfunction is good -- those individuals and their differences bind the team together like eggs in a cake. Without the egg, those ingredients won't stick together. As a leader, you want your group talent to contribute to a high-performing group. That means developing your own capacity for using tension to have comprehensive conservations. Knowing that preventing confrontation is the easier way, speaking out frustration and accepting tension is, in fact,  functionally  dysfunctional. These conversations provide the opportunity for people to confirm each other and continue to work together (or not). This is the functionally dysfunctional part. The desire to communicate is good; however, how it plays out is often bumpy. The Choice Is Yours Global teams,

NIGERIA INDEPENDENCE 2017.

Image
NIGERIA @57 On October 1,1960, the flag of British Colonial Nigeria was lowered and new flag was raised. After a century of British influence, the region we know today as Nigeria became a commonwealth realm. This made the new country a sovereign state, and gave it the same political status as other countries around the globe. Though 1960 is generally celebrated as the birth year of Nigeria, it wasn’t until 1963 that the rule of monarchy was abolished and the Federal Republic of Nigeria was born. In any case, October 1 is a significant date in the history of Africa’s most populous nation. Today we celebrate this diverse nation and its glorious green and white flag. Happy Independence Day, Nigeria Nigerian Independence day October 1st remains a special date for all Nigerians as this marks the day when we attained one of the most precious of human desires — freedom. Over the years the country has gone through trials and tribulations, but October 1st is always a day for celebrations.
